How I’m Going To Go From Junk Mail to Gem Mail: How AI Can Enhance My Email Conversion Rates

I will work with AI to create better emails for me. Email conversions start with whether or not someone opens the email I’ve sent. It goes on to see whether or not they will take the action I recommend, typically clicking through on a link to buy something from me or through my affiliate link.

These are people who should be easier to convert than blog visitors. They’ve already proven that they appreciate my advice by signing up for my list.

But that doesn’t always mean I’ve effectively kept their appreciation intact. Suppose I need a solid plan to create loyal subscribers with valuable content. In that case, my emails may not convert very well.

Conversions that AI can assist with include:

  • Crafting compelling subject lines that make people want to open them.
  • Personalizing the content so that each segmented recipient feels the message was tailored to them and their needs.
  • Develop call-to-action statements that funnel the reader through to a specific course of action, like a sale.

Conversions take place naturally when I’m a good guide to valuable information. If I do nothing but spam my readers, they will unsubscribe. I can even promote in every email, but the offer needs to add value to the recipient’s life.

AI can help me with email conversions in a few ways. Starting with getting it to tailor my communications according to how I’ve segmented my list. This is important because the message might be about the same topic. Still, it can be written in a way that feels like it’s for a particular audience.

For example, I’ve prompted AI like this: “Write an email promoting the launch of my new low carb recipe membership program, but give me two versions I can mail to my segmented lists. I need one for a list of people new to this diet and another to go out to a list of men and women over 50 years old. I want them to feel as if the program is tailored to their needs.”

AI has delivered 2 different segmented versions, and they have unique subject lines and the body of the content is be different, too. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, the reader will respond better when the message is geared to their needs. I would personalize these, and not just copy-and-paste them as the are.

I can also have AI work on my subject lines to improve my open rate conversions. I can prompt AI with my original subject line and ask it to improve it or ask for a variety of options right off the bat.

Prompt: I’m launching a low carb lifestyle membership program and I need a variety of 5 subject lines that will ensure my open rate is high. Use a different styles and slants.

Next, I can use AI to optimize the body of my content. For example, I can ask AI the following: “Based on the low carb niche information you have access to, what type of email content will convert best for a beginner audience?”

AI will tell me that I need practical tips, starter guides, an introduction to the concept, recipes, success stories for motivation, and more. I can ask AI to develop a one-week content plan that converts well for me using a variety of the methods it lists.

So long as I include my conversion goal so that AI knows what the aim is and can develop content calendars that align with that, like this: “Using some of the items listed above, give me a one-week content calendar of ideas that ooze value to the email recipient to get them to sign up for a one-week trial membership into my low-carb lifestyle group.”

If I want to, I can prompt AI to “Write this email and include these program details [include list].” AI will come back with a well-written, ready-to-convert email that includes a strong call to action to get them to sign up for the trial.

Another aspect of email conversion optimization is timing. I can prompt AI like this: “What’s the best time of day to send these emails to people who want to lose weight?”


AI will give me options, but I can also re-prompt it for each group’s absolute best time of the day. Then it tells me that late morning, between 10 AM and noon, tends to be the best option for working moms because it’s after the initial wake-up chaos and when they start settling down for a break. For seniors, it says the same time, but because they’ve completed their early morning routine and are now in a leisurely state.

I can have AI generate a split testing option for all of these options to see precisely how my list will convert for various content choices and styles.
